If you were in your teens in the late sixties, it was hard not to be influenced by the times; the music, the social activism, student movements and the beginnings of feminism.
Or perhaps not, maybe those heady days went straight past you.
Perth based writer Liz Byrski admits she spent 1968 lying on the couch eating chocolate and focusing on her pregnancy. Her activism and interest in politics came later.
In her new novel Bad Behaviour she goes back to 1968 to trace the lives of two women and how the decisions they made then affected their lives in the new century.
She also explores the unsettled period women particularly go through as their children gain their independence and leave the nest.
